How to work with custom symbols (glyphs) in MapTiler Cloud

This article provides an overview of how users can work with custom symbols (glyphs) in MapTiler Cloud and how they can contribute to the global user experience of the feature. The article also describes how the users can upvote the sooner implementation of custom fonts in MapTiler Cloud.

MapTiler Cloud currently supports only custom symbols (glyphs).

If you want to upload a custom set of symbols into your custom map, take the following steps:

1. open your custom map in MapTiler Cloud
2. click the (...) button
3. select the Symbols button

4. upload your custom set of icons to your map

What about the custom fonts?

MapTiler Cloud currently does not support working with custom fonts. At the moment, you can use MapTiler Server for hosting your custom maps with your custom fonts. In MapTiler Server you can easily add your own data and work with the styles of your beautiful maps. Another way to tackle this challenge is to use any HTTP server to host your custom fonts and map style.
