How to put online KML for Google Earth

With MapTiler Engine it is also possible to create KML overlays for Google Earth. The procedure of preparing the necessary output is described in a separate article. In this article, we'll take a look at how this output can be uploaded online and used with the browser version of Google Earth.

Getting your output online step-by-step

Open your local .kml file in any text editor and paste the final HTTPS URL of your online folder in the places shown below and save.
Upload the content of the render output folder including the edited .kml file to provided location (via FTP, GitHub Pages, S3, etc…).
Download the doc.kml file you just uploaded and save it locally.
In the browser version of Google Earth navigate to Project -> Open -> Import KML file from the computer (or Google Drive, if you saved your edited .kml file in this storage) and choose your downloaded local file.
Once the file is opened by Google Earth online application the map is positioned in the place where it should be and perfectly overlays the terrain, it is possible to pan, zoom and view it from all sides in 3D.
